About CoVenture10

CoVenture10 extends the pioneering work of the PreVenture program, developed by Dr. Patricia Conrod. PreVenture is a personality-targeted intervention aimed at reducing adolescent substance misuse and promoting mental health. It addresses personality traits like impulsivity, anxiety sensitivity, and sensation seeking, equipping adolescents with cognitive-behavioral strategies to build resilience and achieve personal goals.

The Next Phase of CoVenture10

The new phase of this research project focuses on revisiting the original participants, now young adults, to evaluate the enduring impacts of early intervention programs on their substance use, mental health, and cognitive development. This follow-up study will:

01

Intervention Impact

Assess how early personality-targeted interventions have influenced participants’ mental health and substance use trajectories over time.

02

Behavioral Persistence

Investigate whether the observed reductions in risky behaviors and improvements in mental health during adolescence have persisted into adulthood.

03

Psychosis & Risk

Examine prevalence of psychosis-like experiences in participants, explore how these might correlate with early intervention, substance use patterns, and other mental health outcomes.

04

Long-Term Influences

Explore how factors such as changes in environment, life circumstances, and genetic predispositions may have moderated long-term outcomes.
